Our Alva’s Central School has stood out to be a very special Educational Institution having carved a niche for itself in a short span. Though situated in a rural area called Moodbidri in Dakshina Kannada district, it has grown to be an institution one has to look forward to.
High School education is a crucial juncture in students’ life. It is the stage of transition. It is this stage that the students need to be given right direction. They are precious metals needing to be polished to shine. They should be given a right platform in order to bring out the best in them. It requires an excellent learning center. Alva’s Central School strives to fulfill such a requirement with a blend of culture and education.
Our attempt here is to inculcate in the young minds a sense of moral and social responsibilities. Albert Einstein said “Our attempt is not to make a man of success but to make a man of both success and value”. This perfectly aligns with the vision and mission of Dr. M. Mohan Alva.
Realizing the importance of School Education and how crucial it is for the future of the students, Dr. M. Mohan Alva set up an ideal platform in 2011-12 to mould the personality of young aspirants. The school is getting developed not only in an academic sphere but also in sports and cultural arena.

Formative Assessment (P.A) refers to a system of school based evaluation that covers all aspects of a students’ development. It is a developmental process of students which emphasizes on two fold objectives. These objectives are continuity in evaluation & assessment of broad based learning & behavioral outcomes. The major emphasis of F.A is the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (C.C.E) of students ensuring their intellectual, emotional, physical, cultural & social development. Therefore, it will not be merely limited to assessment of learner’s scholastic attainments. P.A as a means of motivating learners to provide feedback and follow up work to improve upon the learning in the classroom and to present a comprehensive picture of a learner’s profile. Admission is based on an entrance test to check the previous knowledge of the child. Admission is done only when parent meets all the following requirements: 1)Birth Certificate Copy 2)T.C of the Previous School 3)Report Card Copy 4)Pass port size photographs (12) 5)Parents’ Adhaar Card Copy 6)Students’ Adhaar Card Copy 7)Seat Allotment Slip 8)One self addressed stamped envelope. 9)A child should have attained the age of 5 years 10 months for class 1 as on 1st June of the year.
